Staffing Update – Exciting News for Our 3/4G Family!

We are thrilled to share the joyful news that both Eliza Galea and Chloe Gerada are expecting new babies later this year! What a wonderful chapter for both of these amazing educators, and we couldnโ€™t be more excited for them as they prepare for this next adventure.

In light of this, we want to update you on some staffing changes in 3/4G. Ms. Galea will be finishing up at the end of Term 2 and Ms. Gerada will be finishing her time with us in Week 8 of Term 3. We are equally excited to welcome Ms. Smith, who will join us in 3/4G from the beginning of Term 3 full time and will be working alongside Ms. Gerada (Monday to Wednesday) until Week 8, knowing this will ensure a smooth and supportive transition for the students.

Of course, Amanda will continue in her full-time role within 3/4G, helping to provide consistency and continuity throughout this transition period. We are so fortunate to have such a fantastic team supporting our learners and are confident that this early planning will set everyone up for success.

Even More Staffing News for Our 3/4K Family!

We are writing to share the news that Mrs Gardener is unfortunately needed to say farewell from her two days in the classroom with 3/4K, due to personal reasons. As we know, family always comes first.

Next term we are welcoming back Ms. McIlvain who will transition from her support and intervention role into the Thursday and Friday classroom teaching role in 3/4K. For those children involved in LEAP, Ms. McIlvain will continue to run this program. Our students who are involved in intervention with Ms. McIlvain will be supported by Education Support.

Ms. McCulloch, will be returning from leave at the beginning of Term 3. Weโ€™re excited to have Ms. McCulloch back with us and look forward to the wonderful work she will continue to do with our students.

Thank you for your continued support as we embark on these exciting changes together. We look forward to whatโ€™s ahead!

Staffing News for Our 1/2H Family!

We are excited to share that Ms Pike will be joining 1/2H on Fridays starting from Term 2. Many of the children already know Ms Pike, as she has been a much-loved teacher at Wandong, working with us on Mondays and Tuesdays. She has also spent many sessions with the 1/2H class, making her a familiar and supportive presence for the students. We are confident that her continuity will provide a smooth transition for the class. At the same time, we would like to inform families that our ray of sunshine, Ms Webb will be taking on a different role at Wandong in Term 2.

Parents Approaching Other Parents

Please be reminded that at no stage is it ever okay to approach another parent about an issue, event or behaviour that has occurred during the school day. Please ensure that you speak with your childโ€™s teacher and trust that they will follow up any incident that requires following up. Even if you require any clarification about an event or situation, it is best placed with the teacher or a member of leadership.

SEW

SEW 1/2C

To This week for SEW in 1/2C, we have been focusing on the topic of gratitude. We have been talking about the importance of gratitude and what it means to be and feel grateful. For the activity this week, students in 1/2C decorated a bookmark for their friend sitting next to them. This was a wonderful way of saying thank you to each other for having such an incredible start to the year and for always being there to help in and out of class. 1/2C put a huge amount of effort into these bookmarks, making sure to colour inside the lines and some even made sure to use their friendsโ€™ favourite colours. We are super grateful for each other in 1/2C!

OFFICE NOTICES

Office Hours : - 8:30am until 3:55pm

Picking Up Children โ€“ Please help our admin team!

In exceptional circumstances and emergencies, at times children need to be collected from school early. Please help our wonderful administration team by ensuring that this is not done during the break times of 11:00-11:30am and 1:45-2:30pm. When children are outside playing with their friends, they do not hear the announcements and it is difficult to have a staff member unlock classrooms to collect bags and belongings. Please help support our classroom programs by waiting until 3:30pm to collect children. The admin area is growing quite hectic in the afternoons with families collecting children early. Thank you in advance for your support and understanding.

IMPORTANT: โ€“ Mobile Phone/Watch/Device Policy

In 2020, DET introduced strict restrictions on the use of any device with access to a cellular system, with or without a physical connection to a network. Where students bring a device of this type to school, it MUST be placed in secure storage at the office.

IMPORTANT: โ€“ Student Information

It is very important we have up-to-date information for all students. Please check Compass and update current home & email address, phone numbers & medical details.

Reminder: –

Hats must be worn throughout Term one & Term four outside. If they don’t have a hat, they can only play in a shaded area.

ย **Kids can get messy, please be organised & keep an extra set of clothes in your childโ€™s bag for emergencies.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

UNIFORM

IMPORTANT

**Please remember to put your child’s full name on their uniform. Please don’t use initials, as this makes it harder for us to find the owner.

If you order a bag, the order can be placed in your child’s or siblings’ tub for convenience. If not, you will need to supply a bag or make arrangements to collect your order.
