PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
End of Term Three โ Mrs Beer Farewell Assembly
Just a quick reminder that this is the last week of Term Three. We will be having a special assembly from 9am for Mrs Beer. TheirCare will be supplying morning snacks and Kouta Koffee, so please join us to celebrate the educational career of Mrs Beer. The children will have their normal recess and lunch breaks, and will be dismissed at 2:30pm from their classrooms.
ย
Have an amazing break and take some time out. Rest, relax and do something fun. We are ready for a big Term Four. School will resume Week One Term Four on MONDAY 7TH October.
TERM 4 EVENTS
Before we know it, we will be into Term 4, otherwise known as the busiest term of the school year. With our whole school camping program, grade and staff selection and various end of year celebrations such as our end of year Box Car Extravaganza, we will surely be flat out with the potential to โmissโ something. Keep your eyes open for information and please ensure you are aware of dates and events that require consent and payment. Please also advise us if you are leaving/moving schools and above all else check the newsletter weekly for updates on a range of important matters. Newsletters are archived, so if you happen to miss one or two, just jump onto our website and do some catch up reading.
Footy Colours Day
On the last day of Term 3 (20th September), Wandong will be holding a Footy Colours Day. All students will be encouraged to wear their favourite teamโs colours to celebrate. Please note that if your child does not follow or support football, they can come to school in their favourite sporting team colours. We are looking forward to seeing all of the different teamโs colours, so get ready!
School Hat Reminder
As per our Sun Smart Policy, “children are required to wear a sun smart hat that protects the face, neck and ears whenever they are outside from September to the end of April”.
WELLBEING
SEW in 3/4G โ R U Okay Day
Last term in 3/4G, we celebrated R U Okay Day, a National Day of Action highlighting the importance of meaningful conversations to support mental health and wellbeing.
As a class, we discussed the following question โ Who are the people in your life that you can talk to? Students investigated the role, different types, and levels of support from different areas of their lives, such as friends or family, community networks, or formal services like Kids Helpline.
Students participated in a game of โConversation Bingoโ, designed to support students in building connections with their peers and form trustworthy relationships to allow them to have meaningful relationships with one another.
They then completed a worksheet outlining the support networks around them, should they need to turn to someone for support. Inside the body outline, students brainstormed or creatively represented their personal support network. Inside the house outline, students brainstormed or creatively represented people at their school or in their local community that they can talk to. Inside the world outline, students brainstormed or creatively represented organisations across the world who work towards making sure people are okay, for example Kids Helpline.

OFFICE NOTICES
Office Hours : - 8:30am until 3:55pm
Picking Up Children โ Please help our admin team!
In exceptional circumstances and emergencies, at times children need to be collected from school early. Please help our wonderful administration team by ensuring that this is not done during the break times of 11:00-11:30am and 1:45-2:30pm. When children are outside playing with their friends, they do not hear the announcements and it is difficult to have a staff member unlock classrooms to collect bags and belongings. Please help support our classroom programs by waiting until 3:30pm to collect children. The admin area is growing quite hectic in the afternoons with families collecting children early Thank you in advance for your support and understanding.
IMPORTANT โ Mobile Phone/Watch/Device Policy
In 2020, DET introduced strict restrictions on the use of any device with access to a cellular system, with or without a physical connection to a network. Where students bring a device of this type to school, it MUST be placed in secure storage at the office.
IMPORTANT โ Student Information
It is very important we have up-to-date information for all students. Please check Compass and update current home & email address, phone numbers & medical details.
Reminder:
Hats must be worn throughout Term Four outside. If your child has taken their hat home, please make sure it’s brought back to school.
ย
**Kids can get messy, please be organised & keep an extra set of clothes in your child’s bag for emergencies.
UNIFORM
IMPORTANT
**Please remember to put your child’s full name on their uniform. Please don’t use initials, as this makes it harder for us to find the owner.
If you order a bag, the order can be placed in your child’s or siblings’ tub for convenience. If not, you will need to supply a bag or make arrangements to collect your order.

program will automatically continue lessons each term. A verbal or written
notification to the instrumental teacher is required to withdraw students
from the program. Notice needs to be received 2 weeks prior to the end
