Our School Zone 

Our school zone is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au which hosts the most up-to-date information on school zones in Victoria. 

Wandong Primary School is currently operating under an Enrolment Management Implementation Plan (EMIP) due to high enrolment demand. Enrolments are managed in accordance with the Department of Education’s Placement Policy, with priority given to students who reside within our designated neighbourhood school zone. Out of zone enrolment applications will be considered in line with Department policy and only where capacity is available.

Our school manages enrolments using the Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their local school. Students may enrol at another school if there are available places.

Foundation (Prep) enrolments 

All Victorian government primary schools follow the statewide Foundation (Prep) enrolment timeline.  

The timeline advises families when and how to enrol their child at a Victorian government primary school.

Our school uses the Department of Education’s secure digital enrolment system called VicStudents. This means you can submit your Foundation (Prep) application online and receive updates through the system. If you have any questions about the online enrolment process, please contact our school.

Other year level enrolments 

We also accept enrolment applications for students in other year levels. You can submit a request at any time in the school year.  

Eligible students who live within our school zone are guaranteed a place, while students outside the zone may be enrolled if there are available places.

Wandong Launchpad Sessions

In August, we offer our families a special evening session, “Launchpad Program for Parents”. Our program, “STARTING AHEAD TO STAY AHEAD” builds on the important idea that the first year of primary school is one of the most critical years in a child’s education. During this time, children learn the foundational skills that they will need to become effective readers, writers and mathematicians. There is a strong link between children who succeed in Foundation and those who go on to excel in the later years of primary school and beyond. We want our students to have the best of everything right from the start. The best teachers, the best education and the best opportunities. We designed Launchpad to give our students the best chance to excel from the moment they walk through our doors. Children enrolled for Foundation, will be offered our onsite “Launchpad Learning for Students”. These onsite sessions will run in the second part of the year to provide another opportunity for your child to start ahead, to stay ahead.

Once the enrolment process is finalised and processed, you will be listed on our database to receive details of information and transition sessions that will assist in preparing your child for school.  Our student Launchpad sessions begin in Term Three each year, with our more formal Foundation transition sessions in Term Four.
